Holy Week Begins

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday also known as Sunday of the Passion.

This Sunday begins what some call Holy Week, the last week of our Lord before his death.

It is the culmination of Lent.  Many things transpired that last week of our Lord and we celebrate a few of them.

If you look at the following invitation we invite you to join us to celebrate these events.

Palm Sunday Easter Ad

Come join us and celebrate the Lord.

Today is Fat Tuesday that means tomorrow is Lent.

We begin lent with Ash Wednesday services at 7 PM.  February 18th.  We will celebrate Communion and also have imposition of Ashes.

Come join us for worship tomorrow night as we begin our journey through Lent.

This year we hear about the fruits of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-26  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  (23)  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.  (24)  And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  (25)  If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.  (26)  Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Tomorrow we begin with Self-Control.

Come Join Us!

Celebrate the Christ Child

Christmas is this week.

As we gather around family and friends for our Christmas celebration let us remember to gather together with God to celebrate this wonderful gift.

Our Christmas Eve worship starts at 7:00 PM.  It is a candlelight service with Holy Communion.  The service is centered around  the Christmas Story in the Gospel and other lessons, plus the singing of Christmas carols.

We invite you to join us this night as we celebrate and give thanks for the gift of the Christ Child.

We will not have service Christmas Day, but will gather the next Sunday at 10:45 AM for worship and then will have a family get together New Years Eve at 7 PM.

We invite all to join us.

Apologies and updates

I apologize for not keeping this page updated.  Needless to say a lot has been going on and lot is going to go on.

This Sunday we begin the Advent season.  This is a preparatory season for Christmas.  Our celebration this Sunday centers on St. Andrew the first disciple.  Who are you going to invite!

We will start our mid week Advent Worship on December 3, at 6 PM  The services will center on the Advent Wreath and the meaning behind them.  Our worship will be informal as we gather to welcome the coming celebration of Christmas.

This past Friday we had a Black Friday mothers day out from 10 AM to 4 PM.  We did not have a large attendance.  We decided that we will do it again to help parents do their last minute Christmas Shopping.

On December 20th from 9 AM to 1 PM (times subject to change) we will again offer free day care for children so the parents can do their last minute Christmas Shopping.  Crafts, a snack and lunch will again be served.  We will also have some movies for them to watch.  So parents if you need to get some last minute shopping done, or just need a break from the children come drop them off at Redeemer Lutheran Church’s Bethel Hall on that day.

Plans are taking shape now for our Christmas Eve and  Christmas Day celebrations.  Christmas Eve service (candle light and communion) will be December 24th at 7 PM.  Come join us as we celebrate the coming of the Christ Child. We are also looking at a Christmas Day service but that will be determined by the congregation.

We also want to have some sort of New Years Eve celebration.  That is still in the planning stage but it would be an informal gathering with pot luck, games and movies for all interested.

So come join us for one or for all the activities we have planned in this next month.

Don’t forget to keep the reason for the season front and center, Christ our Savior who came for us all.
